Redesigned DKP System (submitted by Blinkor at 03:52pm CDT)

Points Awarded

Standard Kill Value: 1 pt

Enhanced Kill Value: 2 pts

New Kill Value (Includes anything not previously killed by us): Variable based on mob difficulty and, in the case of overland mobs, level of contest. After the first kill, these will fall into one of the other 2 Value ranges. Minimum First Kill value will be 2 pts.

The standard kill value is assigned to anything we've killed multiple times without significant upgrade, quest, etc., potential.

The enhanced kill value is assigned to anything we've killed with above average kill value in regards to upgrade, quest or otherwise.

NOTE: When we're learning new encounters, and doing a whole lot of dying, but not much else, points may still be awarded on the nightly basis. This is to lessen the sting of the learning, and the lost points will also more than be made up for on the first-time kill bonus.

Bidding System

1) Legendary (Red Text) Items will be at a starting minimum of 10. If no bids are received at the 10 minimum, the minimum shall be reduced to 5. If no bids are received at the 5 minimum, the item shall be open rolled at 1 100, 2 points cost to whomever wins. The 1 100 roll will be open to people without the points to bid, as well as those that do have the points to bid. Raiders will be allowed to enter negative points at this juncture. Items won at rot will not count against the 2 items per night limitation. It will, however, count against the 1 item per mob.

1.a) Legendary (Red Text) Items obtained from increasingly difficult encounters that we beat down the road may be subject to increased minimum bids. The purpose in this is to a) encourage attendance to all events, not just encounters we've beaten several times and have relatively small chance of losing to and b) increase the base general cost of those items which are significantly more powerful than what we're currently seeing in APW Entry and Cartheon wings, in an effort to spread them out amongst our raiders, as opposed to piling all the spoils on one, or a small group of, players.

1.b) The only items outside of this tiered minimum bid degradation are noted below as Specialty Items, and the Hoptonian Reinforcement Molds, which will remain a 1 100 roll, 0 points cost item. All other Hoptonian Molds will be moved to the same bidding system for Legendary (red text) items stated above, as was the original intent. This will not be a retroactive change, but one that has been requested on numerous occasions due to the high demand for the molds.

2) Heroic (Orange Text) Items will be at a starting minimum of 5. If no bids are received at the 5 minimum, the item may be open rolled at 1 100, 1 point cost to whomever wins. The 1 100 roll will be open to people without the points to bid, as well as those that do have the points to bid. Raiders will be allowed to enter negative points at this juncture. Items won at rot will not count against the 2 items per night limitation. It will, however, count against the 1 item per mob.

3) Warehouse Tools will remain at the current cost. Each tool will be rolled at 1 100, 1 point cost to the winner. The first roll call will be open only to those with the required crafting skill (Blacksmithing, Artificing, Outfitting) AND of appropriate level to use the item. If no rolls are made, the roll call will be opened up to all crafters of all levels, priority being given to those that have the crafting skill but not the required level as yet.

4) Specialty Items will be referred to as those items that are gotten on a raid and not used in the normal equip-and-use manner. These will include Crafting pieces (components harvested from slain mobs, etc), ultra-rare quest pieces (Tormented Soul off Demetrius, etc) and any other item not used under the normal equip-and-use manner.

4.a) The Tormented Soul will be bid off at a 10 minimum. Due to the substantial nature of the item upgrades that the Tormented Soul results in, this item will not be subject to a decrease in minimum bid.

4.b) Components harvested from slain mobs will be collected and stored until such time that a Cursed or Hexed item can be crafted from it that someone with the required Soul can use. An active thread will be kept listing all the currently held items.

Due to the restricted minimum bid on the Soul, which is required to make the Hexed or Cursed items useable, there will be no points cost on the Hexed or Cursed item. If multiple people need the components to craft the required item, it will be on a first-won, first-served basis. If noone has a Tormented Soul, no components will be used until such time that someone obtains a Tormented Soul. This is in an effort to best utilize the bottleneck portion of obtaining the APW crafted items.
